Hi folks,

My name's Bobby Aherne and I'm this years Student's Union Mature Students Co - ordinator. This is a brand new role in the Student's Union and it gives the opportunity for greater representation of mature students across UCD.

As a mature student myself I'm aware of the different needs and challenges mature students can face while studying at UCD. My role is to ensure that these needs are represented to the Students Union. It is also my role to link up mature students with support services if and when they are needed.

Have any problems with your grant, Back to Education Allowance, childcare needs, uploading essays, getting around the library? Don't hesitate to get in touch with me!

I will be working closely with all of the Student's Union officers to ensure that mature students are included in UCD life. I would strongly recommend running for class rep. Don't worry, it's not about organising nights out and trips away, it's about representing your class at union council. More mature students are needed at council. Don't forget to join the Mature Student's Society and attend the coffee mornings and lunches.
