Hey everyone,
Last two weeks have been busy with completing Student Union Training with USI and the rest of the team then organizing Orientation week, content and design for the bags, promoting the Facebook, Website and twitter account along with preparing for the Equality Campaign with LGBT Noise and USI, helping film with The Irish Times on advice for incoming students and meeting with the college conveners on helping them planning their year and what they want to achieve.
Next week is our launch to help with the Equality Campaign and the publishing of the Equality Survey which will be available next week then a press release outside the Department of the Taoiseach and a mock marriage. Following from that finished booking a video we're filming on Thursday then promoting it the following week.
Can't stress how important it is to take off two hours of your day on August 12th at 3pm and march to support equal marriage for everyone with LGBT Noise. Civil Partnership doesn't go far enough and in order to legislate this into our constitution or push it forward to a referendum we need as many students to head to City Hall on Parliament Street for this day. Bring as many friends as you can and even drag your parents along. I am anyway!
You can start by checking out the link here.
Next week meeting with Building & Services trying to setup a bike scheme on campus, organizing a volunteership scheme for the retirement centre in Donnybrook , internship scheme with AIESEC to work in developing countries for the summer in conjunction with the Students' Union and bringing a monthly food market to UCD.
Enjoy the weekend!
