Hey Guys!

I want to firstly congratulate you on getting through your exams and making it to UCD. It's a cliché I know but ask anyone; you're in for some of the most enjoyable and memorable years of your life! My name is Shane Comer and I'm your Education officer for the year! My job is to sit on the numerous committees of UCD to ensure your needs are represented on all educational matters and I deal with many other issues that students might have like grants, modules, exams or if you just need any general advice with problems you may be having!

Starting off in University can be intimidating with all the jargon like modules, credits and electives but don't let it put you off. It's only for the start and before you know it you'll be settled in.

I seem to be on a roll with the clichés so let's try another; get involved! The main reason you've chosen UCD is to get a world class degree but, and I shouldn't say this, there is so much to do in University besides study and exams so don't look back and think what if, join a society, try out for a sports team or run for Class rep/UCR.
