APPLY EARLY TO AVOID GRANT DELAY
APPLY EARLY TO AVOID GRANT DELAY
UCD Students' Union is urging students to apply as early as possible to avoid delays in processing grant applications.
UCD SU President Paul Lynam said "We are likely to see a record number of people being processed through the grant system this year so its vital students get their application in as early as possible.
The unprecedented demand for college places will naturally lead to a surge in applications for grants. Students can help themselves by applying early and ensuring they have supplied all the necessary information."
UCD SU Education Officer James Williamson added "Students cannot afford to be left waiting in limbo for their grants to be processed so we are stressing the importance of applying early and being as organised as possible.
Improved measures such as online application and more streamlined application form should help the process but the grant process will greatly benefit from early applications.
In addition, the circumstances people find themselves in can be very different from 12 months ago and applying early allows any possible issues or difficulties to be resolved as early as possible."
