Elections And Returning Office

These elections will take place on April 10th & April 11th 2012.

Nominations close at 5pm on Friday 30th March.

Further nomination forms are available from the Union General Office
in the Student Centre, Belfield.

Nomination Forms can be submitted by placing them in the metal ballot
box in the Union General Office in the Student Centre or by handing
them to the Union Returning Officer.

CONSTITUTIONAL REFERENDUM

A Constitutional Referendum will take place on February 29th & March 1st.

The proposal is to replace the entire Constitution of the Union with a
new document.

The proposed new constitution is available by clicking {here}
and in hard copy from the Union General Office
in the Student Centre.

Any group that wishes to be recognised as an official "Yes" or "No"
campaign should contact the Returning Officers as a matter of urgency
by email to returningoffice@ucdsu.ie


Presidential & Vice-Presidential Elections

It is planned to hold these elections on February 29th & March 1st.

Nominations will close at 5pm on Friday February 10th. Nominees should
submit to the Union Returning Officer a completed nomination signed by
at least 130 members of the Union and a deposit of €100 before that
time.

UNION GENERAL MEETING

A General Meeting of the members of the Union will take place on
Monday 6th February 2012 at 7pm in the Astra Hall, Student Centre.

All members of the Union are welcome to attend.

The meeting is to consider the question: "Should the Union General
Meeting overturn the decision by the Union to close the Print Bureau
(SU General Office) in the Library/Arts Tunnel?"

Only members of the Union may attend, and only those who present their
UCD student card will be admitted.

A ballot on the question will be held at the conclusion of the meeting.

Nominations are now officially Open for Sabbatical Elections

The following positions are open for anyone to run:

President

Vice President for Campaigns and Communications

Vice President for Education

Vice President for Welfare

Vice President for Entertainments

Nominations will close Friday the 10th Of february at 5pm at which point all the correctly nominated candidates will be called for a meeting with the Returning officer.

Nomination form is just being finalised but will be available later today.

The elections will take place on the 29th of February and 1st of March (consecutive days).

Nominations for the Executive elections will open on the 5th of March and will close on the 23rd of march with the elections to take place on the 3rd and 4th of April.

Union Council Elections 2011

Engineering & Architecture Programme Officer By-Election 2011

The election of Union Council members and the by-election for the Engineering & Architecture Programme Officer will be held on October 4th & 5th 2011.

The constituencies for the Class Representative elections are listed on the relevant nomination form, which is available by clicking {here}.

Members of the Union who are residents in UCD on-campus accommodation and wish to run for the position of Residence Representative should use the Residence Representative Nomination Form, which is available by clicking {here}.

Members of the Union who are members of the Engineering & Architecture Programme Officer Constituency and wish to contest the by-election in that constituency should use the Programme Officer By-Election Nomination Form, which is available from the Returning Office by request by email to returningoffice@ucdsu.ie.

Nominations close at 5pm on Friday September 23rd.

Nomination Forms may be submitted by placing them in the metal ballot box in the Union General Office in the Student Centre or by handing them to the Union Returning Officer.

The Returning Office website www.ucdsu.ie/elections will be used to make a number of important announcements. By 5pm on Monday September 26th the following will be published: a list of candidates; details of which constituencies have contested elections and which candidates have been elected unopposed; and the provisional polling scheme for the elections. The final results of the contested elections will be published here on the morning of Thursday 6th October.

The Inaugural Meeting of Union Council will take place on the evening of Thursday October 13th. The Class Rep Training Weekend will take place from Friday October 7th to Sunday October 9th.

Independent Appeals Board

Meeting in relation to Executive & Programme Officer elections

The Independent Appeals Board will meet on Thursday 7th April 2011 for the purpose of considering issues related to the timing of the Executive & Programme Officer elections, which are currently scheduled to take place on 13th & 14th April 2011, during the 11th week of the Semester.
