Catherine Smith McKiernan


Chairperson & Director

Catherine Smith McKiernan is a management consultant specialising in strategy, organisational effectiveness and change management. A UCD Business and Law graduate – class of 1997 - she has been a member of the UCDSU Board of Directors since July 2014, and has served as chairperson since February 2015.

Marcus O'Halloran


Executive Director

Marcus O'Halloran, an Agri Business Managament student at UCD, is the current President and Executive Director of UCDSUL and UCDSUCSL. He is a member of UCD Governing Authority and Academic Council and is also on the board of Campus Sport and Leisure Ltd.

Anthony Kelly



Anthony Kelly is a former Entertainments Officer with the Students’ Union in 2005/2006. After completing his degree he went on to train as a solicitor with Matheson, rising to the position of Associate before leaving to take up the position of Business Development Director of Glofox which is a management platform for the health and fitness industry.

Liam Dunne



Liam Dunne is a graduate of Biochemical Engineering in UCD in 1990 and later trained in accountancy. He rose through the ranks of Guinness/Diageo from 1995 to 2012 with six promotions eventually ending up as Global Sales Automation Director. He then took up the role of Chief Operating & Finance Officer with EY and has most recently taken up the role of Group Head of Transformation Programmes in CRH, Ireland’s largest company.


Ciara Brennan



Ciara Brennan is a primary school teacher at St. Peter's Primary, Bray. She holds a BCL (Hons) degree from UCD and Higher Diploma in Primary Education from Trinity College, Dublin. She was Deputy President of UCDSU in 2007-08 and is an active member of the INTO, holding various roles at branch and district level. She tutors teachers all over Ireland, leading professional development courses in technology. She is an international ClassDojo ambassador for Ireland, and the founder of the first national Teachmeet events for primary teachers in Ireland. She is a regular commentator in the media on matters relating to primary education in Ireland.

Feargal Hynes



Feargal Hynes, a BComm graduate from UCD, is a former President of UCDSUL and UCDSUCSL. He is the teenage founder of SkyHigh Promotions and has worked extensively in the Arts and Entertainment industries for a number of years. He is currently a consultant for a number of Irish companies in the area of strategy building and organisational development.

Brendan Lannoye



Brendan Lannoye is a Management Consultant with Accenture Financial Services. He joined Accenture after completing his undergraduate in History, Politics and International Relations in 2012. During his time in UCD, Brendan was a member of the Constitutional Reform Group which redesigned the most recent version of the UCD SU Constitution. He is also the Chairman of Foxrock Parish Council.
