Darryl at the Jobsbridge 2.0 Picket

'We are here today outside Grafton Cleaners. It’s a launderette that is availing of Work Placement Experience Programme (WPEP) which is essentially Jobsbridge 2.0. Our issue here today is that they are offering contracts for €306 for 30 hours work per week. These are jobs that the owner has already clarified that if the scheme wasn’t in place they would hire a worker for this job. The company does not have to pay anything for the worker and is providing him with free labour and worker is now earning below what they should be earning in this role.
