Leighton Gray, Campaigns and Engagement Officer, UCD Students' Union said;
'UCDSU met with graduate medical students to learn of the university's unfair treatment of our future doctors. Graduate medical students from Ireland and the EU currently pay over €15,000 per year, while non-EU students pay €50,000.
The university has announced that it will be increasing these fees by 2-4% every year with no end date. With a lack of services and increasing numbers of students, current graduate medical students are taking a stand. UCDSU will do whatever we can to amplify the voices of our students who have stood at the frontlines of the COVID-19 crisis.
They simply cannot afford these unreasonable increases year on year. We fully support UCD Medical students calls for a fees freeze and call on UCD to implement it immediately.'
