UCD STUDENTS’ UNION PROMOTES AFFORDABLE FRESHERS EVENTS
Tickets for Fresh Sesh and Freshers Ball have sold out in record time.
UCD Students’ Union has significantly reduced ticket prices this year in an effort to make their events more affordable for students. Tickets this year for Freshers Ball were reduced to €12 from €20 last year. This had no effect on securing quality acts for both events with John Gibbons, Kungs and Daithí featuring at the events.
Barry Murphy, Students’ Union President said;
‘We are delighted to see so many first-year students getting involved in Student Union events early on in their college experience. It has been a very exciting beginning to the semester with Fresh Sesh and Freshers Ball kick starting the year. We hope that the reduced cost made the events more accessible to all students and we will continue to work on keeping the costs to students down on all events this year.’
Thomas Monaghan, UCD Students’ Union Campaigns and Communications Officer said;
‘The success of Fresh Fest and Freshers Ball this year is entirely down to the first-years. First-years this year are nothing short of fantastic. They have come in so engaged and so willing to participate make new friends, get involved and that’s why I think Students’ Union events have been so successful and why both events sold out. I think that having such eager and enthusiastic students coming in this year, it’s really going to benefit the union and benefit the university as a whole.’
