UNION

 COUNCIL

Union Council is the governing body of UCD Students’ Union. Members of Council include; Class Reps, Campaign Coordinators, Entertainments Forum, College Officers and  Sabbatical Officers.

They meet every 2-3 weeks during the academic term.

Full-time and part-time Officers give reports to Council on what they have been working on and other members can ask them questions about it. Council also formulates policy and mandates, to steer the work of Union and it’s elected Officers.

Council is open to all students to view. Please drop down any time if you would like to see how it works or what is going on.😊

POLICY-MAKING AT UNION COUNCIL

If you are a member of Council and you want to make a policy change, you can do this by bringing forward a mandate to Council.

If you are a student and you want to make a policy change, get in touch with your Class Rep or College Officer and they can bring forward a mandate on your behalf.

If you want to create a policy which would change the constitution, this cannot be done at Union Council. To make a change to the constitution you need to call a policy referendum. To get more information on this process please email the UCDSU Returning Office at returningoffice@ucdsu.ie
