The Role Of A College Officer

  • There are eight College Officer positions available, for which the successful candidate will receive full training before the beginning of the next Academic Year. The College Officer acts as the primary means of communication between the students and class representatives in their College, and the Union Executive. In particular the College Officers aid recruitment of class reps and raise awareness of issues specific to their area of study, feeding these back to the UCDSU Executive and Union Council. As full members of the Executive, College Officers are also accountable to UCDSU Council.

  • The Irish Language Officer promotes the Irish language in all aspects of the Union and they aim to develop a bilingual culture in the University. They advocate for bilingual signage on campus and meeting with the University and residents of campus accommodation in Irish language schemes.
