Calling UCD Alumni!
A Chairde,
Can you help our students secure accommodation for the next academic year?
University College Dublin and UCD Students’ Union are reaching out to you, our alumni community, to see if you could help provide a room for a UCD student to rent this September for the 2024/25 academic year. To those who responded to our call last year and provided a room for a student, thank you for your support and we hope that you will be in a position to continue providing a safe place for students.
The shortage of rental accommodation in Dublin means that finding a room to rent is a huge challenge for prospective and returning UCD students. Our hope is that students will have the opportunity to excel, and that these rental shortages do not become a barrier to their progress.
If you have a spare room, would you consider renting it out to a student and providing them with accommodation for the next academic year? If so, there is a simple online system called 'UCD Accommodation Pad', where you can list your spare room for rent by UCD students. Advertisements for accommodation can be placed on the website free of charge, and you will be provided with guidance on how best to manage this should you require it.
You have the chance to enhance a student's entire college experience, and give back to the UCD community. Students need affordable, adequate places to live in order to reach their full potential. We'd urge you to consider a 7 day let if possible as for some students, international students in particular, 5 day lets are not suitable.
We thank you in advance for your consideration in helping UCD students secure accommodation for the next academic year.
If you are able to offer accommodation this September, please click on the button below as soon as possible.
Is mise le meas,
Miranda Bauer
UCD Students' Union President
