UCDSU Elections 2026: Polling Scheme and Voting Information Announced
UCD Students’ Union (UCDSU) has officially confirmed the Polling Scheme for the 2026 Sabbatical and College Officer Elections.
Each year, UCD students elect representatives to lead the Students’ Union and advocate on their behalf across issues including education, welfare, campus life, student rights, and national policy. Those elected in this year’s elections will form the UCDSU Executive for the 2026–2027 Academic Year, taking office at the beginning of the next academic cycle.
These roles carry responsibility for representing over 30,000 students , both within UCD’s decision-making structures and at national level, as well as delivering campaigns, services, and student-led initiatives across campus.
When and How to Vote
Voting will open at 08:00 on Tuesday, 3 March 2026, and will close at 20:00 on Thursday, 5 March 2026.
Voting will take place online via the Mi-Voice platform. All students will receive an email shortly before polling opens containing a direct link to the ballots they are eligible to vote on.
Elections operate under PRSTV (Proportional Representation by Single Transferable Vote) in accordance with Irish law.
Results will be announced in the Atrium, UCD Student Centre, at 15:00 on Friday, 6 March 2026.
Re-Open Nominations (R.O.N.)
Re-Open Nominations (R.O.N.) will appear on all ballot papers where a poll is being held. Voting for R.O.N. allows students to indicate that they would prefer the position to be reopened for nominations rather than filled by any of the listed candidates.
