SU Autumn Elections - Nominations Open Today at 5pm
Interested in representing your fellow students?
Want to be part of making change happen?
Nominations open TODAY at 5pm for UCD Students’ Union’s autumn elections.
The SU is run by six full time Sabbatical Officers and nine part-time College Officers each year. Together they are known as the Executive. Alongside them are the Class Reps, who are elected by their peers to represent different courses, schools, and stages across the UCD student journey.
Nominations are now open for the 2020/21 academic year and will close on 6 October, with elections due to take place on 14-15 October.
You can submit your nomination using the link at the end of the page.
So - Who can run? Who can vote? How does it all work?
In short, if you’re a UCD student, you can run and you can vote - all students can! This is your Union and you have the right to have your voice heard, by running for election yourself, or by voting, or both!
To run for Class Rep or College Officer, you must be enrolled as a student in that particular course, school, stage, and/or College. You can only be nominated in one constituency, even if you are on Joint Majors.
To learn more about our elections, visit https://ucdsu.ie/yourvoice/elections/ .
If you have any questions, you can contact the Returning Officers on returningoffice@ucdsu.ie.
What positions can I run for?
We are electing the full range of Class Reps for the academic year ahead, and holding a by-election for the Agriculture, Food & Veterinary College Officer. If you are interested in running for one of these positions but want to hear a bit more, you can contact the Campaigns & Engagement Officer, Leighton, on leighton.gray@ucdsu.ie.

North Avenue
When you read most ‘about’ pages, the company usually tries to create the perception that they are big and well established. Well, we are not! But someday we might be..or else we could just f**k everything up, who knows! To say we were born to create content would be an understatement..a very big understatement. I guess we just got bored of the same robotic news being delivered to us every day, so we decided to try to create something far less boring! We were fed up with the same old news bulletin beginning with ‘Hi, I am Brian Williams and you are watching news @ 6’.
Anyways, the goal of North Avenue is to keep you up-to-date with insightful & topical business stories via email for you to discuss and share with your friends. Expect us to drop by your inbox for a cup of coffee every Tuesday & Thursday morning. So if you are fed up of reading the same ding dong in traditional media, try giving some of our content a go. The more the merrier.
📧Edgy, a bit weird but informative business news right here -

The death of George Floyd in the United States has sparked global uproar. We are in the midst of the largest civil rights movement the world has ever seen.

This Town Hall meeting will focus on racism locally, nationally, and internationally.
What are the experiences of Black students on campus?
What is Aramark, how does it profit from Direct Provision, and why is it allowed to stay on campus?
